The 4th Symposium by Psychedelic Society Belgium will be held the 9 to 10 October 2026 in Brussels: When Healing Is Not a Shortcut: Integrity in Psychedelic Therapy
Taking place at the Maison des Associations Internationales in Brussels, this year’s symposium will run over one and a half days:
- October 9th (late afternoon & evening)
- October 10th (full day)
As interest in psychedelic-assisted approaches continues to grow rapidly across scientific, clinical, and public domains, this symposium creates space for a slower, more careful conversation; One that prioritizes integrity, responsibility, and harm reduction alongside therapeutic potential.
A multidisciplinary exploration of integrity in practice
This year’s edition brings together perspectives that reflect the full complexity of the field today. Rather than focusing on a single angle, the program explores psychedelics and mental health through interconnected lenses, including:
- Experimental and neurobiological research foundations
- Clinical and therapeutic practice and training
- Client experience and preparation/integration
- Societal context, systems of care, and public health realities
- Ethical implementation and governance
- Media representation and public discourse
- The role of music, setting, and relational environment in therapeutic contexts
- Synthesis of emerging psychedelic-assisted therapy models
Together, these perspectives aim to support a more grounded understanding of both the promise and the limitations of psychedelic-assisted approaches.
A closing panel discussion will take place on Saturday, bringing together key voices from the symposium before we conclude the program.
